Salamis parhassus PUPAE

from £24.50

Salamis parhassus, the Mother of Pearl Butterfly, is a striking butterfly species found in various parts of Africa. It is a big butterfly, recognized for its striking appearance and bold markings. The Mother of Pearl has wings with iridescent white and a striking rainbow-like sheen. Their caterpillars feed on various host plants, typically including species from the Urticaceae family. I have seen several reports of breeding using Giant Sage (Brillantaisia) with caterpillars also feeding on Ruellia and Common Plantain (Plantago).
